Watch This Video on How to Perform a Concrete Sealer Test

Last updated 4 years ago

Epoxy coatings can transform a concrete floor into a beautiful and durable surface, but it is important to know if your concrete has been previously sealed or not prior to installation. There is a simple test you can perform to determine if your concrete floor is ready to be coated.

In this video, you can see how simply using water to test your concrete can help you determine if it has been sealed or not. Take a container of water and spill it over the floor in question if the water soaks into the concrete in a few minutes or less, your floor has not been sealed. If the water beads up, you will need to have the previous sealant removed before your new epoxy coating can be installed. If your concrete has been freshly poured, it may need additional time to cure before it can be sealed.
